Physical Concerns and Problems
Hypertension
Hypertension, along with smoking, are the biggest factors in deaths of Japanese people caused by lifestyle diseases. Essential hypertension is what many of the Japanese patients suffer, which is thought to be caused by a combination of excessive consumption of salt, obesity, alcohol consumption, lack of exercise, stress and hereditary trait. Out of these causes, excessive consumption of salt seems to be the most critical one for Japanese. We treat the patients by restricting salt consumption and prescribing medication.
Diabetes
Diabetes is a disease in which blood sugar level goes up due to insulin not functioning well. Insulin is a hormone secreted from pancreas that can keep the blood sugar level within a certain range. Leaving high sugar level untreated for a long time damages blood vessels and may lead to complications. Thus controlling blood sugar level to prevent complications is important. We treat the patients mainly with diet and exercise, along with medication if necessary. Your doctor may also instruct you to consult a registered dietitian on nutrition.
* Advanced medical equipment are in use at our clinic to acquire test results quickly (within a few minutes).
Dyslipemia
A condition in which blood lipid level is out of the standard range is called dyslipemia. Lipids abnormality includes the blood level abnormality in LDL cholesterol (bad cholesterol), HDL cholesterol (good cholesterol) and triglyceride (neutral fat). Any of these can promote arteriosclerosis. We treat the patients mainly with diet and exercise, along with medication if necessary.
Hyperuricemia & Gout
A condition with high blood uric acid level is called hyperuricemia. Not only this condition causes gout, kidney stones and other kidney-stone diseases, but it could also be the cause of obesity, high blood pressure, dyslipemia and hyperglycemia. Thus patients with hyperuricemia could suffer a combination of these conditions. The majority of hyperuricemia, gout and kidney-stone diseases patients tend to be men. We treat the patients with diet and exercise.
Prostatic Hypertrophy
Prostatic hypertrophy is a disease in which an enlarged prostate gland interferes with various bodily functions. An enlarged prostate especially narrows the urethra, making urination difficult. Other symptoms this disease may cause include frequent urination, constant urge to urinate, frequent urge to urinate during the night, urinary incontinence and leakage, strong urge to urinate (strong enough that it gets unbearable). Since the main cause of prostatic hypertrophy is aging, the number of patients suffering prostatic hypertrophy in Japan, where its population is aging, is increasing every year. If there are any symptoms that concern you, please consult us.
